One of the most famous and iconic car brands in world history, Italian giants Ferrari have been at the forefront of producing incredible cars since Enzo Ferrari founded the company in 1929. Originally named Scuderia Ferrari, the automobile manufacturer is best known for producing sports cars and its involvement in motor sport.
There has never been a slow Ferrari, but the title for the world's fastest ever Ferrari car was the F60, which was first seen in 2002.
Since the very beginning of production, it is estimated that a total of 130,000 Ferrari cars have been built and sold, with a current annual production figure averaging around 7000 units. The company's revenue in 2012 stood at €2.4 billion and employs a total of 2695 workers as of 2011.
Ferrari first ever road-legal car came in 1947, prior to that they had only made racing cars, and the Italian manufacturer currently has 6 models, the California, 458 Italia, FF, 458 Spider, F12 Berlinette and the LaFerrari.
The well known prancing horse on Ferrari's logo comes from a time when Enzo Ferrari met Countess Paolina, the mother of Count Francesco Baracco who used to paint horses on his planes during his time as an Ace for the Italian air force. The Countess told Enzo Ferrari that the horse would bring him luck, and taking one look at where the company has come since then, it's hard to argue that it didn't!
