Porsche Automobil Holding SE, which is usually known as Porsche, and correctly pronounced “por-sha” is a German holding company who are heavily invested in the automotive industry. Founded in 1931 in Stuttgart, Germany by Ferdinand Porsche, the company has an annual production output of 143,000 units, a revenue in the 2012 fiscal year of €13.9 billion and employs over 17,500 people.
Porsche has had many models throughout their history, but none more famous than their glamourous 911 which has been the company's top seller for years. The Boxster and the Cayman come next, ahead of the Cayenne and the Panamera, the high performance luxury saloon car.
The 911 wasn't only Porches best road car seller, it also give them plenty of other reasons to be proud, as it was successful on the race track, and in world rallies. The iconic sports car almost defines Porsche as a brand.
Although Porsche's products now ooze quality in every way, it wasn't always the case, for the original 356 Speedster didn't come with padded seats, a tachometer, visors or heaters as standard.
